Fried Zucchini Flowers

Ingredients

Zucchini flowers

1 cup of flour

1 cup of sparkling water

Sea salt

Neutral oil (like canola oil)

Preparation:

Make your batter by mixing equal parts flour and sparkling water in a bowl. Heat up about 2 inches of canola oil in a pan on medium heat. Dip flowers in the batter and fry them on each side for about 4 minutes or until golden brown. Put them on a towel to dry and cool for a minute, then serve with flaky salt.

If you ever get your hands on some zucchini flowers, this recipe is super simple and tasty.

I usually enjoy these delicate blossoms stuffed with a creamy cheese like ricotta, but simply frying them in a neutral oil really brought out the flavor.
